From the desk of His Grace

As we journey through the New Year, Century and Millennium, I pray for peace and spiritual atonement throughout the Christian world. I wish to extend my paternal blessings to all the faithful for a healthy and spiritually enriching New Year. I pray that our Almighty God will bless and enlighten us with His wisdom and guide us to achieve our salvation.

This is a complex world, in which we live, but we have been given a great blessing, and that is time. Time for reflection; time to study the past; time to creatively engage the present and time to wisely plan for the future. We must invest our time prudently. Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my personal thoughts with you as we begin this new millennium. It is my fervent hope that this journey begin with love for one another, both in thought and deed. One who loves and has a giving soul is a Godly human being, because God is love! This beautiful giving and loving spirit is not always easy to maintain in our complex society but we must face this task as part of our Orthodox Christian obligation. I strongly believe an individual who stops indulging personal ego for self-serving glorification will automatically begin to offer their service to humanity and find the path to personal salvation.

We live in a materialistically oriented world and we must understand our path can be a difficult one to find. However, our Holy Orthodox Church established teachings that guide and offer us over 2000 years of experience to follow. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge from our Church teachings and from Holy Scripture. So my dear friends, let us begin by utilizing the valuable and precious gift of time and the time-tested teachings of our precious faith. I pray that we all accept this blessed gift from Above and we invest our time spiritually and not materialistically so that the legacy we leave behind for others to follow in the future years and well into the next century will be salvation-oriented and God-pleasing. God bless and be with you always! With faithful commitment to His service, I remain

Prayerfully yours with paternal love in Christ,

+ALEXIOS
