Bishop Dimitri of Batumi and Skhalta

On 8 November, 1997, Archimandrite Dimitri (Shiolashvili) was ordained Bishop of Batumi and Skhalta eparchy at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Bishop Dimitri is the co-chairmen of the scientific society "Holy Land", as well as an initiator and organizer of numerous public undertakings. With the blessing of His Eminence and under his guidance the Fund for restoration of Khino monastic complex was established. Under His Eminence's direct leachership about 10 churches have been built for the last decade, 6 churches are being built at present.
