Archbishop Sergius (Konovaloff) of Eukarpia

Archbishop Serge (Konovaloff) of Evkarpia was born on July 8, 1941, in Louvain (Belgium). He studied Germanic languages at the University of Louvain. Married and father of three children, he was ordained a deacon in 1968 by the late Archbishop George (Tarassoff) of Syracuse in Brussels and was elevated to protodeacon in 1976. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1980 by the late Bishop George (Wagner) of Evdokia and was elevated to archpriest in 1985. After the death of his wife, he was tonsured a monk in 1990. On June 8, he was elected to be the successor of the late Archbishop George (Wagner) of Evdokia (Archdiocese of the russian parishes in Western Europe under the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople), receiving the title of “Archbishop of Evkarpia”. He was consecrated bishop in Paris on June 27, 1993. He died in Paris on January 22, 2003.
