Bishop Georgios of Arsinoe

Bishop Georgios was born on March 25, 1949. In 1967, he completed Cyprus's gymnasium.

From 1968 until 1972, he studied in the Chemistry Faculty of the University of Athens. From 1976 until 1980, he studied in the Theological Faculty of this same university. He spent a probationary period in England.

On December 23, 1984, he was ordained a deacon. On March 17, 1985, he was ordained a presbyter with an elevation to archimandrite was appointed a preacher under the Archdiocese of Cyprus. At the same time, he taught chemistry in a middle school. In 1993, he was a member of the commission under the Ministry of Education on the composition of a chemistry textbook. Since 1994, he was been the secretary of the Holy Synod.

On April 24, 1996, he was elected Bishop of Arsinoe. On May 26, 1996, his episcopal consecration took place.

His name day is April 23.
