Metropolitan Chrysostom (Themelis) of Messinia

His Grace Metropolitan Chrysostomos (Themelis) was born in 1918 in Istiea, Evia. He has studied Theology. He was ordained a deacon in 1944 and a priest in 1945. He has served as chief secretary of Holy Synod. He was elected and ordained as titular bishop in 1957. He was elected Metropolitan of Messinia in 1965. In 1990 he was awarded a honor Doctorate by the University of Athens. He has written many books.
