Archbishop Adam (Dubets) of Przemyshl
and Novy Sandets

Archbishop Adam, in the world Alexander Dubets, was born on August 14, 1926, in the village of Florinka in Lemkovshina. In 1960, he completed the Warsaw Orthodox Theological Seminary, and in 1964 - the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw with the awarding of the degree of master of theology. In 1965, he was ordained a priest and served in the parishes of Lemkovshina. Since 1966, he was the rural dean of the Ryashev region. On January 30, 1983, he was consecrated Bishop of Przemyshl and Novy Sandets. He occupied the see on October 30, 1983. Since 1996, he has been an archbishop. In his years of service, Archbishop Adam achieved much in the area of the reestablishment of Orthodox life in Southeastern Poland: he reestablished a series of parishes in Lemkovshina, built several new parishes churches and cathedrals, established the book publishing activity, began the creation of a religious-cultural center in Gorlitsa.
