Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphos

Metropolitan Neophytos was born on January 21, 1962, in the village of Ano Zodia. In 1979 he completed the gymnasium of the city of Morphos. In 1985, he completed the Legal Faculty of the University of Athens.

Until 1987, he lived in Greece and was a novice of the Elder Iakovos Tsalikis. In this same year, he returned to Cyprus and became a novice in the Monastery of Saint George in the city of Larnaca. On December 27, 1987, he was ordained a deacon by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Kitium. From 1988 until 1993, he studied in the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens.

On December 19, 1993, he was ordained a presbyter and elevated to archimandrite of the Monastery of Saint George.

On April 22, 1998, he was elected as Metropolitan of Morphos. His episcopal consecration took place on April 23, 1998.

His name day is September 28.
